Organic Rhododendron Honey
A pale, opalescent color, delicate aroma, and a subtle hint of wild berries. This is a very pure and precious honey, sourced from high mountain locations. Excellent as a spread on bread or to sweeten hot drinks. It crystallizes finely and evenly.
This honey is part of the Slow Food Presidium of High Alpine Mountain Honeys.
The Presidia are Slow Food projects that protect small, quality products that deserve preservation, produced according to traditional practices.
PAIRING
Excellent in herbal teas and spread on bread.
When the flowers begin to bloom, the hives are placed amidst high mountain forests rich in rhododendrons; the honey is harvested shortly before the end of the flowering period to obtain an exceptionally pure monofloral honey.
We bring the honey to the right moisture level before extraction, ensuring the integrity and long-term preservation of the product. Honey extraction is performed by cold centrifugation to preserve its nutritional value and organoleptic characteristics.
We filter the honey through fabric filters to remove any residual wax or other impurities. We store the honey in stainless steel containers and bottle it by hand.
